Background:
We're raising money to help sustain the blockade site at Sharbot Lake and to contribute to legal expenses.
Since June, Ardoch Algonquin First Nation and their allies in and around Sharbot Lake have been protesting illegal uranium mining on their land. The proposed mining process will create radioactive pollution affecting several communities within the Mississippi River watershed. The land in question is legally held by Ardoch Algonquin First Nation and they have not been consulted by the government or the company.
