-------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the goal of profits over people, multi-national companies like Alcan, Pacific Rim and Frontenac Ventures bulldoze indigenous people from their lands while destroying the environment. Despite the weight and overwhelming power of these companies, indigenous communities are resisting.
From the Adivasi resistance in India, to the resistance of communities in El Salvador against Pacific Rim Corp. to the resistance of Indigenous people in Sharbot Lake against Frontenac Ventures, communities continue to fight against displacement and the theft of their land.
As an immigrant and refugee rights organization, No One Is Illegal believes that an integral part of fighting for migrant rights in Canada is also fighting against colonialism and displacement that forces people off their land; that the struggle for the right to stay, also involves fighting for the right to return.
