Organizing 21st Century Workers:

A discussion on new strategies and challenges for unionizing and activism

Friday, April 18th 8pm 519 Church St. Community Centre (intersection of Church and Wellesley, near the Wellesley subway station)

Featuring:
-Deena Ladd, Workers Action Centre (Toronto)
-Pete Montalbano, Starbucks Workers Union (NYC)
-Stephanie Basile, IWW Food & Warehouse Workers Union (NYC)
-Adam Welch, California Port Truckers

Millions of workers are entering today's workplaces without knowing why and how to join unions. Manufacturing jobs still remain, but the 21st Century brings new challenges. Many immigrants, youth and knowledge workers labour in sweatshop like conditions without security, benefits or, increasingly, rights.

Times have changed, but "An Injury to One" is still "An Injury to All".

Introductions to the topics by panelists will be followed by an open question and answer discussion. Admission is free, we invite all those in attendance to make a contribution to the Industrial Workers of the World Legal Defense & Organizing Fund.
