Denis Rancout at the SkyDragon Centre, Hamilton
"Gadflies, Saboteurs, and Organizers: Activism Inside-Out"
Denis Rancourt was fired from the University of Ottawa for corrupting the youth but he's not drinking the hemlock. Denis Rancourt will share his observations and critiques about First World activism. His talk explores the interrelated concepts and phenomena of solidarity, critical mass, consensus, diversity of tactics, survivor guilt, pacifism, and burnout; using many examples. In the end, he concludes that our activism is primarily a lie that we vehemently protect to guard us from the guilt of our privilege and the shame of our cowardice. There will be time for questions and discussion.
