Anarcha-feminism discussion (Ottawa)
Anarcha-feminism discussion
Sunday, Feb 8
1:00-4:00pm
Jack Purcell Community Centre
near corner of Elgin & Gilmour streets
Five activists/organizers from Montreal will be in Ottawa to lead an open forum style session on the topic of anarcha-feminism. Bring your ideas, your questions, your concerns - and most importantly your self and your friends!
The facilitators of this discussion are involved with various initiatives/groups in Montreal, including the Organization Committee of the Pan-Canadian Young Feminist Gathering; DAWN-Canada (Disabled Women's Network - Canada); GRASPé (Grassroots Association for Student Power); Reclaim! (an environmentalist anti-capitalist group at McGill); ASSÉ (Association pour une Solidarité Syndicale Étudiante); and Tadamon! (for self-determination, equality and justice in the ‘Middle East’ and in diaspora communities).
This is part of the monthly Anarchist Discussion Group series hosted by Common Cause Ottawa. For more, please contact a_ottawa@mutualaid.org
Note: we will also be coordinating transportation from Ottawa to the radical feminist gathering in Montreal the following weekend (Feb 14-15). For more info, http://www.antipatriarcat.org/yabasta/ -- or in english: http://www.antipatriarcat.org/yabasta/invitation2009en.doc
