Abousfian Abdelrazik is a Canadian citizen who was detained, interrogated, and tortured in Sudan with the complicity of our own government. His six-year saga of trying to come home to his loved ones was blocked at every stage by a variety of levels of the Canadian government, including CSIS and the Department of Foreign Affairs. Abdelrazik was only allowed back when a Federal Court ordered his return. He remains on a Kafkaesque UN terror watch list. Come hear Abousfian's story. His stop in Hamilton is one of many as he travels across Canada. Location: Sponsored by:

Anarchism and the Politics of Technology Contemporary anarchism displays a strong ambivalence toward technology, with active resistance residing alongside extensive use and development. In this talk, Israeli activist and author Uri Gordon presents the discussion of technology in his new book "Anarchy Alive!". Criticizing both Promethean and primitivist approaches, he offers an alternative analysis that focuses on technology's reproduction of power relations, and points to directions for its reconstruction along decentralist principles. Talk followed by open discussion. October 11, 7pm SkyDragon Centre
