Digging up the Dirt Wednesday, March 12th Every successful campaign is based on solid research and a few stunning, outraging and evocative facts. But how do you go about digging up the dirt that exposes corporate plunder, government corruption, foreign intervention, or anti-student university policies for what they are? There's no single way to do good research, but this two-hour long workshop will suggest some basic research strategies and share useful tools and resources with participants. Consider it less a how-to session than an orientation session at the beginning of a long, messy and vital journey intopower, money, and politics; both local and global. (Please bring a laptop if you have one, but laptops are by no means a requirement to participate in this workshop.)

The tour's primary purpose is to promote the newspaper to those who can provide consistent, long-term funds towards a democratic and independent newspaper-- individuals who are tired of a media system that marginalizes, spins, and ignores stories of importance to the public."

Wednesday, 19 March 2008 (6:30 p.m.) The realities of disabled people are systemically erased. Though we are an important part of every community, disabled people are actively kept out Disabled people are imprisoned, impoverished and denied immigration status. The only way this will ever change is if disabled people and our supporters join together to fight for justice for everyone. Join us as several community organizers address the role of disability and disabled people in the struggle for resistance. Help us move forward local efforts against ableism, and brainstorm new directions for Toronto-based organizing. Contact:

Being a meeting facilitator is NOT running the show and it is MORE than keeping track of the next people who want to speak. So what is it? Come learn and share strategies on how to maintain Part of the OPIRG - Toronto Tools 4 Change skills sharing and skills building series.
