The city's library board says it may have to pay unionized workers anyway following its decision to cut costs by closing 16 libraries on Sundays.

First the board said the unilateral decesion to shift cuts on to the users of one of the city's best public projects was wrong, simpy because they'll have to give back pay and now the union might might challenge it as an attack on their collective agreement at their convention. In a nice spot of solidarity CUPE also withdrew delegate reservations at the Holiday Inn - couldn't expect any less now could we?
